Plagiarism Policy

Journal of Current Research and Studies (JCR) is committed to publishing original and high-quality research. We have a strict policy against plagiarism, and all submitted manuscripts are subject to a thorough plagiarism screening process. The following guidelines outline our policy:

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the unethical practice of using another person's work, ideas, or words without proper attribution or permission. This includes:

  • Copying text, data, or results from other sources without proper citation.
  • Paraphrasing significant portions of someone else’s work without giving credit.
  • Self-plagiarism, where authors reuse their previously published work without referencing it.

2. Types of Plagiarism

We categorize plagiarism into the following types:

  • Complete Plagiarism: Submitting another author's work as one’s own.
  • Partial Plagiarism: Copying portions of text, data, or ideas from multiple sources without citation.
  • Self-Plagiarism: Republishing one's own work without proper reference or acknowledgment.

3. Plagiarism Detection

All manuscripts submitted to JCR undergo a plagiarism screening using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate. Manuscripts found to have significant similarities with other published works will be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.

4. Acceptable Similarity Index

We adhere to a similarity threshold of 10% or lower (excluding references). Manuscripts with a similarity index higher than this limit will be reviewed, and authors may be asked to revise or resubmit after proper attribution of the borrowed content.

5. Consequences of Plagiarism

Plagiarism, in any form, is unacceptable and unethical. If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process, the following actions will be taken:

  • Before Acceptance: The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.
  • After Publication: If plagiarism is discovered post-publication, the article will be retracted, and a notice of retraction will be posted on the journal’s website.

In both cases, the authors involved may face a ban from submitting to the journal for a specified period, and their institutions may be informed of the misconduct.

6. How to Avoid Plagiarism

To avoid plagiarism, authors should:

  • Provide proper attribution for all data, ideas, and text borrowed from other works.
  • Use quotation marks when directly quoting another work.
  • Paraphrase correctly and ensure that the original source is cited.

7. Authors' Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and adhering to ethical standards. Any disputes arising from plagiarism issues will be handled by the journal’s editorial board and the authors’ institutions.

By submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Current Research and Studies, authors agree to abide by this plagiarism policy.
